feels like

European Athletics is thrilled Russia will stage the 2015 European Athletics Team Championships for the first time in Cheboksary. We are pleased Russia continues to show its commitment to athletics having successfully hosted the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow.

We enjoyed an excellent European Athletics Team Championships in Braunschweig in 2014 and I am very confident we will see an exceptional event at the Olimpiysky Stadium for the sixth edition of the championships, with the highest-level conditions for athletes, large crowds, excellent performances and strong television and media coverage.

This year’s battle for the title between Germany and Russia was a fantastic display of athletics at its best, and we look forward to seeing how the Russian team responds in front of the home crowd.

There is no doubt that the European Athletics Team Championships continue to be the premier team athletics event in the world. From when the event changed from the European
Cup, it has proven to be an extremely exciting proposition for spectators, TV viewers, media and athletes alike.

We are looking forward to another outstanding athletics event in June 2015.

Svein Arne Hansen,
President, European Athletics.

Dear friends,

On behalf of the All Russia Athletic Federation let me invite all of you to the VI edition of the European Athletics Team Championships that will take place in Cheboksary this year.

Cheboksary is the capital of the Chuvash Republic and one of the most beautiful, green and sport cities in Russia. We are very proud that the Russian city was awarded the right to host such an important competition.

The Government of the Chuvash Republic pays great attention to athletics development in the region and will do its best to hold the event at the highest possible level. I am sure that all the athletes and guests of Cheboksary will feel very comfortable at the cosy “Olympiskiy” stadium and there will be no vacant seats at the stands.

I wish all the participants high level results and to start a new season in high spirits, and I wish all the spectators to witness exciting athletics battles and to enjoy the beauty of “The Queen of Sports”!

Welcome to Cheboksary!

Vadim Zelichenok,
Interim President of ARAF.
